The ROBAX® range from SCHOTT
World leader in the glass-ceramic market, the SCHOTT Group is a pioneer in the field of special glass and one of its leading innovators. Have you heard of foldable screen protectors for phones? Or scratch-resistant cooktops? Or the world's first pre-filled mRNA vaccine syringes?
And we are only talking about the most recent innovations, because they began back in 1884.
Among all these creations is the ROBAX® range, consisting of glass-ceramic panes designed to strict and demanding standards. These glasses are unique in that they are highly resistant to extreme temperatures and thermal shock.
From a purely aesthetic point of view, as these panes have very little natural colouring, you will have a perfect view of the flames in the fireplace.
Our products from SCHOTT
- Flat glass available in 3, 4 and 5 mm
This is the most commonly used glass for stoves and fireplace inserts. It is available in several thicknesses and can be cut into a wide variety of shapes. Find them here
- IR-Max self-cleaning flat glass
This glass has the special feature of making combustion more efficient, heat is better distributed throughout the house and soot comes off by itself once the pyrolysis phase is reached. More details here
- Thermoformed glass: curved or bent
These panes have been heat-formed and are available in curved and bent versions into two or three sides. Most of these panes are also 4 mm thick.
They generally offer a wider view of the fire. You can search for your model on our website using its measurements or request a quote if necessary: curved, folded in two, folded in three.

- NightFlame®, grey tinted glass
The latest addition to the range, this glass allows you to see the flames as clearly as with transparent glass, but opacifies the combustion chamber as soon as the fire is extinguished. This allows you to maintain the elegant, stylish appearance of your appliance at all times, even when the glass is dirty. This glass is available as a custom-made 4 mm flat glass and on certain curved glass models. More details here
- Nextrema®, black-tinted glass
This 4 mm thick black tinted kitchen glass is ideal for replacing hob panels and can also be used as a splashback thanks to its lacquered finish on the upper side.
With its granulated underside, it is guaranteed to adhere securely. More details here
- The Dry Wiper sponge
The little extra among our SCHOTT products, this sponge is very effective for cleaning the glass on your wood-burning stove, pellet stove or insert. Used daily, cleaning will only take you a few seconds.
It can be used without adding any products and, of course, does not scratch. View product
An environmentally conscious producer close to home
In light of climate change and other global issues, have you already adopted the principle of buying local and organic whenever possible? Of favouring short supply chains and high-quality products?
Well, that's exactly what we've decided to focus on!
SCHOTT is obviously not the only company to supply these types of glass internationally, but on closer inspection, we will not find such a wide range of products or better quality anywhere else. Located in Germany, just an 8-hour drive from our company in Normandy, SCHOTT is a family-owned company that has always prioritised people.
Did you know that producing ceramic glass requires furnaces to be heated to 1700°C? That's quite energy-intensive, isn't it?
SCHOTT has implemented a number of solutions to drastically reduce the use of carbon-based energies by gradually switching to hydrogen for the glass melting process. This alternative fuel currently plays a major role in efforts to reduce carbon dioxide emissions. This is essential when it comes to protecting the climate and the planet. Aiming for carbon neutrality by 2030! A first among glass manufacturers.

A bit of history
We promise to keep it short:
It all began in 1884 with chemist Otto Schott, assisted by physicist Ernst Abbe and precision mechanic Carl Zeiss.
Together, they founded a small glass laboratory in Jena, Germany. With industrialisation, the factory expanded, as did global demand for specific types of glass.
In 1945, the Americans relocated the glassmakers and their families to West Germany. Erich Schott decided to build his new factory in Mainz.
Since then, new production sites and sales offices have sprung up all over the world.
Innovations in every sector
Since its inception, SCHOTT has continuously innovated, helping this extraordinary material that is glass to develop in all sectors of activity: architecture, automotive, aerospace, healthcare, and housing, to name but a few.
You have probably already purchased products containing SCHOTT glass without even knowing it: the optical glass in your camera, the foldable screen on your smartphone, the windows in your car, the glass door on your oven or hob, or even augmented reality glasses.
So, did you find it? In any case, you will never see your surroundings in the same way again.
